Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a painless, non-invasive diagnostic procedure that produces images of the body without ionizing radiation. MRI uses a magnetic field, radio waves and sophisticated computers to generate detailed images of tissues within the body. MRI technology allows physicians to ‘see’ hidden problems with precision, for more effective diagnosis and treatment.

All Medvue Medical Imaging clinics are private clinics. The costs of our MRI scans are not covered by the provincial medical plan (RAMQ), and must be paid for by the individual or company arranging for the exam. Most MRI scans are covered by private insurance policies and/or Group Benefit Programs, CSST – SAAQ agreements, or may even be covered by medical tax credits (verify with CRA at 1-800-959-8281). We accept Visa, MasterCard, debit cards and cash.

The HD 1.5 Tesla MRI

Now in High Definition, the NEW HD 1.5 Tesla MRI is one of the most advanced medical imaging devices available – able to produce stunning, high-quality images of soft tissue. MRI can help physicians diagnose and monitor treatment for conditions and provide a clear picture of patient health status, which in turn will allow physicians to create the optimal recovery plan of the individual.

MRI is especially helpful in imaging soft tissues in the body, including the brain, nerves, muscles and organs. Medvue’s cutting-edge MRI sports a shorter and wider bore (70cm diameter + 125cm length), eliminating the confinement associated with conventional MRI scanners – a benefit to patients who suffer from claustrophobia, or are larger in size.
